The world

This section will be further improved and categorized, but for now have this very long text in a row - atleast it's better than nothing! I finally wrote the main stuff down somewhere yaay! :D I guess the next step with lore is after another 5 years then (hopefully not).

The two planets

In the universe where Luceiry and Lunaria are (currently known planets), each planet has it's own spirit. Each life-form requires a connection to the spirit to stay alive, thankfully the spirit extends almost far enough to make space travel a thing (atleast for a few months between the planets). Different planets have different spirits, personalities, amount of power, how far their spirit extends from the planet etc.

Luceiry and Lunaria circle around the same sun very close to eachother. Before they brought life on themselves, their moons crashed into eachother. This caused Lunaria to have a sort of asteroid field around it, which looks very pretty, but restricts the modern space travel a lot.

For a few days of a Luceiry's year, the two planets come so close that their spirit fields overlap the planets themselves. At this time some induviduals can feel an odd twingling as they gain the extra spirit. This is the time when new year is celebrated at Luceiry, and a peace celebration is done over Lunaria. The celebration originates from an idea to say hello to each other, or show a sign that there is life on this planet. Luceirians and Lunarians have communicated with eachother using different super bright fireworks for many centuries before space travel was invented.

However, Luceiry and Lunaria differ a lot from eachother. Lunaria's spirit is very strict to keep their people taking care of Lunaria's creations on the planet, while Luceiry left free hands for the world to develop where ever it goes to. Luceiry is curious and not controlling, but now that direction has backfired and Luceiry has lost their control.

Once Luceiry used to be a huge planet full of a massive variety of species of all kinds, but now the most intelligent species have taken control, killed most animals, replaced massive forests with megacities. And finally, there is a group of people who realized that further keeping the progress going will wither the spirit and unlock the ability to add more and more cybernetics to the people, in search of eternal life. As of now, Luceiry is attempting to fight back in a way or another.

Now, when we talk about animals in Luceiry, that usually means different sorts of scaled beings with three pairs of limbs, some with wings that we could call dragons and some with fins to move underwater, which we could classify as something similar to our sharks or whales. Smaller animals tend to also be scaled with three legs, although it's not rare to have a species who hasn't developed the last pair as well. Sadly, most of the coolest beings have already died, especially the big dragons.

In some rare occasions Lunaria may bring life to a new species inspired of Luceiry's extinct ones. As the spirit fields overlap, each spirit may grow attached to the beings on the other. That makes the spirits allow foregineirs from eachother on their lands, however, Lunaria is very picky on induviduals.

Luceiry from past to today

In the past Luceiry used to be a very lively planet with lots of variety in enviorments and species. Sky, ground and oceans were filled with giant to tiny creatures, battling two which would stay alive. From there raised only one family of species to the top, who learned to hunt most efficiently using their intelligence over brutal power. Eventually the family of these species was only a small group remaining but induvidual numbers rising. Because the different species used to fight against eachother.

Lyxine, Lapidin, Lupaine, Felipard, Blacktail fox, Starcat and Frostborn are those that remained. Lyxine and Lapidin were the first two to begun working together to build a bigger community to survive better at. Lapidin have never been hostile towards others, but very efficient protecting themselves instead. Lapidin's technology convinced Lyxine that they should be partners, where as Lyxine could futher more develop the tech using their great skills to improve and coordinate projects.

As the next step, Lyxine observed Lupaine to be useful to further more increase their numbers. Some of the recruit progress was rather harsh, the portion unwilling to join would be eliminated, resulting the Lupaine species to highly dislike standing up for personal opinions and rather prefer to be loyal and work for someone else.

While the Lupaine recruition was still in progress, Felipard sort of just joined in themselves, mostly to leech off the very functional society the others had build. Blacktail fox came in with similar intentions as Felipards, but only because they realized that their community would be no match for the combination of four other species growing much faster than theirs. At this point the obvious happend: The five species begun to merge into one as we now call Luceirians.

Unlike the others, Starcats and Frostborn remained on their own areas for a very long while, and as of today there are still small areas that consists mostly of their species. They are the only two races with 'pure' members of the species still remaining. They joined in slowly as the territories started to grow close. Some Frostborn are still highly against the merge and may show their opinions aggressively, others simply attempt to live away from the busiest areas. Starcats in the otherhand, don't mind the merge, but they feel uncomfortable at cities - which may be Luceiry's defence reaction towards the negative direction of the evolution.

As the species came together, a new race was also born within, although it's not exactly known how and why it happend. Is it the doings of the spirit? Or a genetic disease? Maybe just natural evolution? Neomai are highly intelligent and adaptive personalities, hypersensed and talented induviduals, perfectly suited for life in a megacity. Except they are also hyperallergic and sensitive to almost anything a normal life would require: alcohol, many foods, treats, some gasses, extended sunlight... the list could go on. On the positive side a modern civilization provides everything that they can live healthy despite all the faults.

Neomai divide opinions between the other Luceirians, some believe they are natural evolution to a superior race, others think they may be a results of a terrible disease. Some are afraid, others don't really care, a small portion fights for their rights. In general the picture is very negative - especially cause they look fucking horrendous! That is why Neomai are often found in their own small communities, most commonly slum areas and primarly in cities that are most accepting of the different and guarded properly.

As of today, majority of Luceiry is led by powerful people who strife to wither the spirit for the benefit of more cybernetics and tech, and finally to the point where they'd be entirely tech and then have enough potential to spread over to Lunaria. A great chunk of people don't even believe in a spirit at this point, nor are the hints of it's existance even given to regular people. Most are just living a happy oblivious life, being assured that development goes to the right direction all the time, except sometimes some weird hippie terrorists are trying to prevent it.

Those people are the Resistance, the ones who originally felt the withering and received the last messages from the spirit when it was able to communicate. If the spirit dies, so does all it's life. Mechanical 'life' could continue, but all people would be gone. So there's no reason to not fight against what's happening. If it wasn't for them, at this point Luceiry would be already deserted.

Unsurprisingly, the cities under Resistance's control are located at the original capital areas of the Starcat and Frostborn territories - the two races left with a much higher connection to the spirit than others. They are large areas but harshly smaller numbers in residents. Although the Resistance members who fight in the megacities are rarely members of these two races, because both feel uneasy in such enviorment.

Sometimes the spirit may grant some induviduals who display a potential kind heart a gift. Which are special powers such as telepahty, magical healing, control of elements etc. If the person with the gift turns against the spirit, the power is usually taken away and is likely never restored. These gifted are portrayed as highly dangerous induviduals, called demons or terrorists, since they are the most potential people to join the Resistance. In the other hand Resistance seeks to recruit and rescue these people, who are often just children at the time.

Life on Lunaria

Lunaria's primary species all consists of a merge of a moving animal and a plant, all species on the planet mate by exchanging pollen from their flowers, some are able to gain nutrition from ground or even do photosynthesis. In case of Ceti's and Khuinn's the tuft of their tail is the flower, which is assumed to have once been one. Ceti's build is rather similar to Starcat and Khuinn's to the ancient dragons of Luceiry, which is probably the results of Lunaria becoming attached to the specific species at Luceiry. Both of those species on Lunaria also have the most strict control over by the spirit, which may be because Lunaria wants to protect these designs to remain exactly as is.

Over Lunaria, the spirit can even appear for the people in various forms, guiding them to directions of simply to just make them go through another challenge to prove themselves worthy. As an example, Lunaria guides Ceti's to make each of their homes to be a piece of art: engrave their home trees, underwater caves or ice structures with lots of detail. The race succeeding best is usually rewarded with bountyful year full of all kinds of nice things. Occasionally the races may fight between eachother.

The most common lesser family of species are Felis, they are felinelike with a clear flower on their tails and leaves that grow around their back to neck, the second common species are small bug-like plants which some grow into actual trees and the rest protect them.

Space travel

In the current age, space travel has been made possible. However, the positions of the planets at each time of year define heavily when travelling can be done: There must always be a planet spirit field reaching the area travelled to, otherwise all the living beings will die. Some induviduals may also be unable to space travel, since the change of spirit may affect them too deepy, make them crazy or even kill them.

Travelling from Luceiry is more tricky, and Luceirians are the ones arranging the space travel. This is because Lunaria is very picky on who can land their feet on their ground. Lunaria analyzes the intentions of each traveller and decides upon who can enter, only those who seek to not harm the land may enter. Although this method cannot protect the planet from machines, but Lunaria can always pick induviduals to enter who may help them to prevent this issue.

Travelling from Lunaria to Luceiry has it's negatives as well, as one who betrays Lunaria's trust may never come back again. But Lunaria lets people leave, if they want to, since it prevents the induvidual from potentially poisoning others with their thoughts. On Luceiry's side, entering isn't hard at all since Luceiry is welcoming. Although there aren't many Lunarians on Luceiry.

Just one megacity: Lumenen

Nearly all of the characters revolve around Lumenen, a huge megacity in the center of map (not the only one there is!) - Lumenen used to be the place where residents were half-resistance and half common people. Very recently from the time that tells about our characters, Lumenen had a rather big war where Resistance was entirely eliminated from the city. The two sides rarely break out big wars, since it always means loss of innocent people, who are perhaps even more important to the other side than they are to Resistance.

After the war, unusual amounts of gifted have been spotted in Lumenen, and that has given a new reason for Resistance to start putting their resources to Lumenen again. Their team is growing strong. In the future, I hope, there will be stories about the return of Resistance into Lumenen.

In general, Lumenen is a pretty neutral city, such as they are quite accepting of Neomai and life isn't too restricted there. This is primarly thanks to the common folk living there, wanting to keep the freedom in the city. This isn't very common for cities that have had Resistance members wiped out, but is definately a huge help for easy returning.
